Dr Marlene Kelbrick is a caring, compassionate and knowledgeable clinician. I find her to be approachable to both patients and colleagues. Her friendly and humble approach engages patients in their own treatment plan. She works very hard for her team and is always available to give senior advice where needed. She is a true leader and I feel very much supported by her as my clinical supervisor. A true asset to NSTEP and a wonderful role model to have!

I knew Marlene as a colleague for a few years, but since I started to work under her supervision, I found that her cheerful and welcoming attitude invites you to feel comfortable talking to her. Her friendly, straightforward communication style and belief in people’s skills makes everyone on the team feel valued. Rather than be hierarchical, her stance is friendly; she is hardworking and dedicated to her team, making herself available to take calls and give practical advice. Respected by her patients and colleagues due to her positive attitude towards them, her team feels well supported and confident under her leadership. Marlene is reliable, if she commits to doing something she makes sure that it’s done well and on time. Her special interest in research has motivated the team to get involved in research actively and she remains open to take suggestions and supports others in their endeavors, aiding in solving issues and doling out helpful advice.

I know Marlene not only as a colleague but also as my supervisor. I should not hesitate to say that I was lucky to have her as my supervisor for the duration of one year as a registrar. I always found her passionate, dedicated to her work, humble and approachable. She is always encouraging, motivates and gives an honest advice with the best intention. Marlene has a unique way of working and the whole team feels extremely safe in her presence. Her presence makes a huge difference in how the whole NSTEP team is currently working. Her, very productive and purposeful input is also highly appreciated by her patients and this continues to help them in their therapeutic journey. Although, I do not work with Marlene anymore but she continues to provide her valuable support whenever it is needed. This is greatly appreciated and helping me a lot.

I work in NSTEP north as a CMHN and have always find that Dr Kelbrick listens to the service users she sees with me, she does listen to me as a professional and at times we disagree but she is always willing to listen and when appropriate compromises. She is open honest and encouraging and I am grateful that I work with her.

Dr Kelbrick is a kind and understanding mental health professional. I have worked with Dr Kelbrick for around 3 years now and she has always held the patients best interests at heart. From a colleagues point of view she always is prepared to listen and take into consideration all of what is the best and safest intervention that is needed for the patient's care and recovery.
